As you all know, being a striving wife is not something that just comes naturally (or easily!). So, I’ve carefully chosen several resources that have been extremely helpful to me. Each of these books below have been read by me, and I would highly recommend them for any one of you.

As I continue reading, I will add more to the site. Feel free to click on the links for more information about each book. Happy reading!!

63971: How to Act Right When Your Spouse Acts Wrong How to Act Right When Your Spouse Acts Wrong

By Leslie Vernick

There are no perfect marriages or perfect spouses. We know having a good marriage requires effort and hard work. Yet we often don’t know how to continue to love when we are angry, hurt, scared, or just plain irritated. Nor are we sure what that kind of love is supposed to look like. Should we be patient? Forgive and forget? Do something else entirely?

In this book, you’ll find the answers to these questions, differences, and sins of your spouse to help you become more like Christ. Acting right when your spouse acts wrong will not necessarily result in a more satisfying marital relationship, nor will it automatically make your spouse change his or her ways - although both could occur. It will, however, teach you to respond wisely when wronged and lead you into a deeper relationship with Christ as you yield your will to his plan for your life and learn to be more like him.

  • practical disciplines for managing your life more efficiently and effectively
  • how-to ideas for improving your schedule and life right away

  1. Hi Heather

Just wanted to say how much I’ve enjoyed reading your blog. I’m old enough to be your mother (at least - 59!!!) and lead a Womens’ Group which meet every Wednesday morning to study and chat together. I found your site when looking up “encouraging words” and have find your comments so refreshing.

God bless you for your honesty and sense of fun - I’m sure your husband really appreciates you.

  2. Hi Heather,
Don’t know if you’re familiar with Eric and Leslie Ludy: they wrote the popular book, “When God Writes Your Love Story.” Well, they wrote a book together called “The First 90 days of Marriage.” I bought a copy from them myself even though I’m not married. You might want to check it out, even though you’ve been married a while now.
It’s good to stay teachable. =)
    Hope you look it up!
